I am very interested in your kind of yoga, specially because it is yoga for people with aids !! Here in the Netherlands there is no group special for aids people as far as I know, so maybe I like to read much about it on your website and try to find books about it. I am also a yoga teacher and maybe it is possible for me to start also yoga lessons here in the Netherlands for aids-people. I think it is very important to do that. But first I have to find a way to start and to understand things about aids.Thats the beginning, and than the rest will be follow.......!? I am very happy with your information on the web! I will offen look at this to get information about things of aids. Many greetings, I think you are buzy with something great in life, to help this people. With greetings and love, namaste, Mayke van Wijk. (8/20/00)

Great site..wish we had same sort of organization here for our aids walk organization (www.aidsfundphilly.org), our of which my wife Immy has been active since 1991, and has formed her own group for moms who have lost children to hiv/aids, or who have children infected at this time. I (Immy's husband) started looking for yoga sites because we both wanted to try it personally, then ran across your site..if you can be of assistance in referral to local center(s) please advise..we are also involved with a group called "dignity"..if you have info you could send on hiv/aids & yoga, or on your group (or others) in our area, also please forward...thanks... Best of luck, health, & success to you all for your work in the aids community, Phil (5/11/00)

I'm a new yoga teacher with a nursing and reflexology background. Even in the middle of Wyoming, people are responding to yoga and reflexology to improve their health and way of life. As a nurse and previous employee of a large insurance company, I know that we have many HIV/Aids patients in Wyoming with limited resources. I have recently gotten acquinted with a the community service person at our only hospital here and maybe I can provide (after training) a much needed service for HIV/Aids residents. I would appreciate any information in regard to training within my area (WY/CO). Thank you. Lorraine (3/30//00)

David, Topeka Kansas E-mail: HodaLee@aol.com.
I found your address about a year ago.I've wanted to get interest in a PWA yoga group in Topeka Kansas in the past year. I had done a search for yoga online and was surprised to see how much info there was for PWAs and yoga. My interest was sparked again by an article in the February POZ magazine. I intend to begin a program following the poses in the magazine. I would really hope to find someone experienced in the Topeka area that would be interested in getting a group together. Are there any instructors out there interested. If not, I hope to get a few other PWAs together and try to work something out on a weekly schedule with instructional help from your resources listed here. I currently am working with a new AIDS service organization that may possibly be interested in helping sponsor a group. Thanks for your contribution to POZ magazine. Hope to hear from anyone in the Topeka/Lawrence area. David (2/23/00)

| From JRM. (posted 8/3/97) E-mail: JRMc@netcom.ca. Namaste, I was diagnosed (isn't that an awful word) with Aids in 1984. Yes, I have some pride over this, but the more I survive, and see, the less I am proud, and the more grateful I become. I was Illness free until 1994, when stress, work problems, partner problems and all....brought about several opportunistic infections (isn't that! a great phrase). I continued with one illness after another for the next three years -- PCP, fatigue and finally CMV pnuemonia and retinitis...but I always practiced Yoga, having learned from several trips to India from a friend and Guru in Juhu, Bombay. I never quite believed it to be anything other than an exercise, until I devoted myself honestly. Since the fall of 1996, with intregity and yoga, I have made a remarkable recovery, and am now living free of my central line (for drug infusion) and have begun what I believe is my true path in life, my Tao. I am now alive, well and happy. I simply wanted to let you know I visit your site, and many other related sites on the NET regularly, and think your ventures and efforts are worthy, helpful, and important to me.
Thank-you, |
